The queen mandibular pheromone (QMP) regulates worker bees in the hive. QMP induces a swarm of workers around the queen. TempQueen is a plastic tube (pack of 5 tubes) containing a plastic matrix. The synthetic product is incorporated into this matrix. The worker bees come into contact with the pheromone, which is then distributed throughout the hive, making the colony suitable for queen rearing. The decoy can be used in various beekeeping applications.

Uses of TempQueen!

Temporary replacement for the queen: When a queen dies and no replacement is immediately available, or the existing queen is failing, TempQueen can be used to maintain the colony in a breeding condition for up to 3 weeks. Remove the queen and all queen cells, then insert a TempQueen. Once a new replacement queen is available, the TempQueen is removed and the new queen is introduced.
Shipping of queenless bee packages: TempQueen is generally used to keep a package of bees in good condition when the bees are absent. Use one decoy per package of bees. The decoy will calm the bees, and they will arrive safely at their destination.
Maintaining swarms and queenless nucs: Insert a TempQueen between the two central brood frames of the prepared unit. The decoy will maintain these units for approximately three weeks.
Stabilization of disposable pollination units: The cost of disposable pollination units can be reduced by using TempQueen instead of actual queens.
Improving queen rearing success: TempQueen, used in queen mating nuclei, can maintain a higher number of worker bees than untreated nuclei. Use one TempQueen per mating nucleus once established.
