This "Bee Box" set is made entirely of polystyrene. It includes:

1 roof (PH-9100)
1 Topclair attic space (PH-9101)
1 brown plastic queen excluder (QE-PH01)
1 wire mesh tray with drawer & entry reducer (PH-9000)
2 size increases 9 5/8″ (PH-9200)

Important: a primer must be applied. And Paint on polystyrene. Otherwise, the sun could eventually degrade the material.

Description

This is the famous BeeBox EPS from Finland. This lightweight beehive is the result of 35 years of beekeeping experience from Scandinavia's largest honey producer., Paradise Honey Ltd.Its design is based on extensive beekeeping experience and technical knowledge of the appropriate materials to create a high-quality hive capable of operating effectively in extreme climates. The material used in the BeeBox EPS hive has been field-tested for approximately 30 years in Finnish winters, with temperatures as low as -35°C and exceeding +30°C in summer. The material used in the BeeBox hive system is food-grade, extra-hardened expanded polystyrene (EPS) with a density exceeding 100 kg/m³. With proper use and maintenance, the hives will last for decades. BeeBox hives are manufactured using ISO 9001 certified processes and materials.
