Here is the infinite universe of possibilities that opens up to us when we start thinking about all the things we can do with the honey harvest! With the holiday season fast approaching, you can try making these two homemade recipes that will delight your guests.

Caramelized nuts, Sriracha and honey

This sweet and spicy nut mix is perfect for snacking on during holiday parties or as a gift to offer a change from sweet treats. Not only is it delicious, but it's also healthier than potato chips!

What is needed?

  • 2 cups of nuts of your choice (walnuts, cashews, almonds, etc.)
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tablespoons of Sriracha (or other hot sauce of your choice)
  • 3 tablespoons of honey

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  3. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, except the nuts, to prepare the seasoning.
  4. When everything is homogeneous, incorporate the nuts and coat them well.
  5. Place the nuts on the baking sheet to make an even layer.
  6. Cook for 10-15 minutes, until the liquid has almost evaporated.
  7. Remove the nuts from the oven, stir them and put them back in the oven for another 5 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely before handling.
  9. Roughly separate the nuts to make small bites.
